MAISTRA CAN NOT WHAT IF? Invented it!
A day in the street trades

In contrast always Mexico City skyscrapers are built stunning, magnificent buildings that dress in elegance and innovation to the capital's landscape. But it is in the same place, a more discreet attire, ancient streets that will accommodate work according to the set, trades continue to take place as from day one and the same goal, earning the daily bread.
transporting us to the 60s, the Museo de Arte Popular (MAP) invites the public to travel on anonymous streets of the historic center of Mexico City. The viewer will enter into an illusion theme of the trades that were developing at that time and in some cases still present.
Inspired by the everyday activities of people like the postman, the baker, the sharpener and thrift shops, among many others, the proposed museum invites visitors to start early on a tour in which city dwellers can enjoy breakfast in the place of their choice, find out what's happening in the world with the early bird crier cry or feel calm to see the sweeper in his painstaking efforts to keep the city clean.
Throughout your walk you can access a traditional neighborhood of the center, not without first having passed through the machine shop, the tailor and the cobbler, accompanied by the beat of a familiar melody of Consuelito Velázquez, played by an organ. Fully
involved in this urban environment, a taxi known as crocodile is the vehicle that takes you to the Alameda, where he already expects a colorful panorama. Meringues, cotton and frozen treats are some of the traditional you can buy. And in an environment so scorching why not take a souvenir photo? Almost
to end, hinting at sunset, other trades will appear on the street, and seller of potatoes with her picture and sound peculiar, the taco and
pepiteros. Of course, at the end of the day could not miss a pulqueria representing the mixture of all this folklore.
MAISTRA CAN NOT WHAT IF? Invented it! A day in the offices of the street, the name by which this unique show is called, relies on the imagination and recreation through images, sounds and objects that are composed entirely.
Real-size photographs in black and white are the protagonists of this exhibition, who are surrounded by the tools and objects that they were used, allowing them to discover through features of the identity of a people that can be recognized as Luchon and nostalgic. This is also becoming routine in which we can find small hints oral civic customs, jokes, wordplay and puns.
voices are evoked more and more scarce, echoes and spectacular musical structures that have been losing ground to the terrifying advance of technology, referring to areas that rely on memory and in turn live and confront us with today.
The exhibition, which is equally well-deserved tribute to those who have made our society continues to function, opens this Saturday, March 26, 2011, at 12:00 pm in the premises of the Museo de Arte Popular (MAP ), to remain open until June 5 of this.
