To mark the 75 anniversary of one of the masterpieces the painter Diego Rivera and as part of the celebrations for the Bicentennial of Independence and Centennial of the Revolution, presents the video "200 seconds. An overview of the history of Mexico. " Between 1929 and 1935, Rivera embodies the most eloquent summary of the history of Mexico's famous mural "Epic of the Mexican people, which is located in the stairway of the central courtyard of the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City.
In a total area of \u200b\u200b276 m 2, the mural is divided into three sections: the north wall, "The world pre-Hispanic" (7.49 x 8.85m), is a representation of the various activities of indigenous people, although there are scenes of slavery and exploitation.
The center, under the title "From the Conquest to 1930" (8.59 x 12.87m) ranges from the war of conquest, through the period of New Spain and the struggle for independence to the promulgation of the constitution of 1857, and the main actors and principles that indicted the Mexican Revolution.
Finally, on the south wall, "Mexico Today and Tomorrow" (7.49 x 8.85m), there is the last part of this great mural depicting the difficult revolutionary episodes of the twentieth century and illustrates the oppression of workers and peasants and deep-rooted religious beliefs of the people. It presents the work of the working class, both in the field and in the factories.
We invite you to explore the history of our country in just 3 minutes, 20 seconds, using one of the most important legacies of Mexican art to the art world.
