NEW MEMORY FOR FENCES
on Thursday, during the ceremony presented by the Association of Widows of Astorga, in the acts of the Women's Week, was another tribute to Manuela Rejas. The same came a proposal from one of the members of the Association, since this came to Astorga, in the framework of the X Awareness Days, back in 2006, kept with care Manuela's poem that was distributed with the programs. That visit made a great impact on many of these women, in whom this "illusion of life" left an indelible mark.

Unlike other countries like USA, Italy, China, Brazil, Uruguay and India, where festivals and celebrations are held at the center taking care of kites, for purposes of tourism, particularly, in Mexico, the MAP search through the exhibition-contest of kites, to rescue the essence of folk art the manufacture of these toys, in addition to preserving a tradition.
In Mexico, the English arrived they made known to the Indians, who thereafter called the kite-papalotl Nahuatl, "which means butterfly. This will become not only fun but also a symbol of tradition, as for example in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca, where, during the Day of the Dead, the kites become a way for the spirits of the dead come down and visit their loved ones, and likewise leave.

As part of this celebration, the public can learn about the various activities undertaken by the museum in its first five years, with the support of artisans, artists, collectors and patrons, the exhibition presented in the room part of the month, until the end of April.
The results of the work, is the gradual increase in age, which to date totals about 535 000 visitors, domestic and foreign.
In the first five years, MAP has focused its efforts on promoting and disseminating the work of about 6 000 500 artisans and artists, through its permanent exhibition consisting of pieces of great wealth and artistic quality, 24 temporary exhibitions 54 exhibitions in the room part of the month and 9 traveling exhibits, among other activities undertaken.
this celebration joins the MAP shop, AC, for five years in collaboration with the museum has remained faithful to its commitment to folk art and artists, with our traditions and Mexican culture.
